Why do you think it is your AV causing this (and you didn't say what AV
program you are using)??

Next time it happens, write down the large number that it shows,
something that will start with (0,0000000A) etc etc. Put them in a note
here, as it is those numbers that will point you to the cause of the
problem. As it is a Dell, if you download the latest Dell Assistant
software, that may also point you to a cause and solution.

Uninstall the antivirus program maybe???

Control Panel (Classic View) - Programs...

my anti virus program is mcafee. it came with it and i didnt have bluescreen
errorss for the first 3 months. now, i get the error around 3 times a day.

i don't really want to unistall the program becaues its the only firewall,
virus and spywear program that i have and i don't want to go out and pay for
another virus program when i payed to have this one for 3 yrs.
even when i shutdown mcafee, the error still occurs.
the program itself is up to date and hasn't been changed since it was put on
my computer by dell.
so i think its another problem.
does anyone know of anything else is could possibly be?

Your system tells you it's your antivirus software. If you don't want
to uninstall it - not disable it - as has been recommended, then you
should learn to live with the blue screens.

okay now
i was looking through the problem reports. and i found another blue screen
error caused by something that i dont no. here's the info
anyone know about this one?

I'm sorry to hear that you wasted your money on McAfee, but like Rick,
I too recommend that you uninstall it. There are lots of other
choices, many of them freeware, that are better.

I recommend

1. The Windows firewall,

2. Avast! Antivirus

3. All of the following antispyware programs:

Spyware Blaster
Spybot Search and Destroy
Adaware
Super-AntiSpyware

All of the above are free, and better than what McAfee provides.

the last 3 spywear programs i have used in the past on my xp desktop and the
system crashed. i had to completely reformat the system because it was
overcome with viruses and spywear that the programs did not detect over time.
do you know if norton antivirus is good? i would consider purchasing that if
its worth the money.

It is slightly better than McAfee, but a whole lot worse than any of
the freebies.

You say your system was "overcome with viruses and spyware" in the
past. You must do a lot of REALLY DUMB downloading, file-sharing, and
clicking on crap on questionable websites.

I've been online for over 17 years and have not had EVEN ONE virus or
malware incident.

When the Blue screen is up in front of your eyes, do what I ask and
write down the long stings of numbers and letters and report back here
with those. Then we can help
