i got a kernel_stack_inpage_error last night and was
unable to recover by restarting. the machine originally
kept saying "invalid system disk" when trying to boot from
c:, and so i stuck in the original win2k install CD,
booted to recovery console, ran fixboot, and restarted.
now it tells me NTLDR is missing. while in recovery
console, i can only see the empty partition that
apparently contains only my free space, so i can't find
any of my files.
i'm worried it might be a mbr virus but the comp was fully
scanned about 3 days ago.
right now, running chkdsk from recovery console tells me
that i have a good, empty drive, but running chkdsk with
the /r flag says i have one or more unrecoverable problems.
what are my options?
thanks!
