Trying to reinstall win xp home edition I get the following blue screen
error: Stop 0X0000007E (OXC0000005, OXF75DDOBF, OXF7A29208, OXF7A28F08), also
the comouter will not detect the hard drive, any suggestions? Thanks

Reinstall as in,booting to xp cd,select install xp,new copy, delete the
partition
(xp),create one,then let xp format & do a clean install.If so,power off
pc,chk
&/or clean memory cards (gold pin connectors with an eraser).Otherwise,if
youre "reinstalling xp" thru windows explorer, try the above method....

Here are a view sugestions.Replace your ATA cables and make sure your jumper
setting's are correct. If you install any components recently make sure there
install the right way. Also make sure they support the Operating System.Do you
have an Operating System CD that you can install in your system. The reason I
ask is becuase it just might be a partition problem. You might have to install
the Operating System. If you have a restore disk of your system you can avoid
all this. All you have to do is to format your computer to the original state
and you ll safe yourself alot of time. They call this the blue screen of death.
The last thing you dont want to do is to try to force your computer to work.
Unplug the electric cord and ground yourself before touching any component.
Touch the hard drive and feel if the hard drive is hot.If hot wait till the
hard drive cools it self then remove ATA cables and install againg. If you
have only one CD Rom the jumpers should be set as Single or Cable Select
otherwise if you have to optical disk it should be set as Master and Slave.
And last sugestion try to undo any recent changes you did to your computer. If
this is a software problem when booting enter F8 to enter safe mode command
and try to undo any changes when entering windows. You want to try to clean
you Drive C.IF for some reason you are able to get to windows go to your
Command Prompt and type CHKDSK.This will scan your hard drive for any
problems and correct it.Good luck I hope you can solve your problem.
