Hi:
My problem is that, when I boot-up Win XP, it gets to the "blue screen"
background -- but fails to load the icons. However, I played with it long
enough to figure-out a way around it: by opening a New Task and simply
right-clicking to "explore" one of the folders, suddenly, all the icons begin
to appear. This is how I've been getting my PC started for nearly a year now.
One other "work-around" is having added a new "User" in which I don't have
this issue. The proble here, though, is that all of my
programs/access/documents are accessable only from the "problem" version I
originally created (and use). Can anyone tell me how to clear away this issue
and return my Win XP Boot-up to "normal" health? Thanks a bunch!

Daniel

Well, it's obviously a problem with that user account. See the following article for a description of copying the user account files and settings from one account to a new account. Tghis will allow to use the same programs that are installed in the current acount.

Here is the Microsoft Reference for transferring programs and settings to a new user profile.
