First of all Im love Vista and occasionally I get a blue screen and after
rebooting with starting windows normally it works fine then a dialog box open
and it says,
BCCode: 1000008e

BCP1: C0000005

BCP2: 8FAD575A

BCP3: 97B4FAEC

BCP4: 00000000

OS Version: 6_0_6000

Service Pack: 0_0

Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:

C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini030707-01.dmp

C:\Users\Andy\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-88359-0.sysdata.xml

C:\Users\Andy\AppData\Local\Temp\WERA66.tmp.version.txt

I was wondering if you could help to throw on some light thanks in advance,
Andy.

Those are files that are sent to MS when you have a crash explaining the
crash. When you reboot you should get some sort of notification that it
wants to send the crash info to MS ("Search for solution").

Hi,

As Steve has said, those are files sent to Microsoft to log the problem, and
may possibly lead to a solution if OCA (Online Crash Analysis) has one. I
can tell you that the BCCode indicates that this is a driver error. One
thing you may want to do is check for updated ones from the manufacturer of
the various devices making up your computer (do not rely on Windows Update
for this).

Hi,

I'm having the same problems upgrading to Vista Ultimate from Home Premium.
My message is the same with the following changes. My even comes back and
tells me that the event name is: " Blue Screen" I did get an update from
Windows for the Intel processer. My laptop is brand new.

Any Help? Should I just put in the restore disk from Gateway and start from
scratch?

I have been getting the same problem. It stopped for a while. But every
now and then, there's a blue screen. It has no apparent reason. I
already tested the memory and hard drive of my computer and it happened
again.

Hi dianacpw--

You can always freeze a blue screen to get its first letters and numbers
which are minimally helpful, as is debugging the error.

Start> right click on computer,>properties> advance tab, under start up and
recovery click the settings>system failure>uncheck automatic system restart.
This will freeze the BSOD next time it shows.

However,

There are multiple causes for most stop errors and while they can be
helpful, often they aren't.

Try running SFC and running a chkdsk. You can also try the software fixes
I list below, and of course check the hdw as best you can--cooling, seating
of cards, cables, and sating of mem sticks.

Sometimes a startup repair will fix things besides no boot bsods.

If you need to repair major components of the Vista OS or can't boot, and
don't have a Vista DVD, you can download the .iso from this link and burn
it:

Download Vista Repair Disk
http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/

1) First try 3 options from Startup Repair. If you have a Vista DVD then
restart with it in the drive>press any key to boot from it and run Startup
Repair. From Startup Repair you have 3 good tools with an excellent chance
of fixing your system. If you don't have a Vista DVD from which to boot to
Startup Repair, no problem, Download the .iso from the link below and
burn it, and you'll have the Microsoft Vista Repair Disk with Startup
Repair.

How to Use Startup Repair from the Vista DVD or the Repair Disk you make:

Good luck,

Vista can't stop you from installing bad drivers that can crash the system.
Also download and learn how to use Debugging Tools for Windows To diagnose
dump files. Also learn how to use the Event log and other tools that are
supplied with Vista. Next get rid of all those registry cleaning tools you
have and Never, NEVER advise someone to run them for a problem. Every time
you run them it is deleting registry entries that should not be deleted. If
you had the card plugged in a unpowered hub it is probably. Some devices
will not work properly plugged in a hub..

I'm completely out of idea. I get the same crash on my laptop and I
tried every single method. It crash simply just leaving it idle after
log in. I thought found the pattern that causes the crash, but I didn't.
I formatted my entire laptop yesterday and reboot it with the disk they
gave me when I bought the laptop, and guess what, it still crash, even
with no software installed. And it doesn't make sense that the factory
driver is causing the crash, because i used it for months when i bought
this computer and it work fine. Plus I had been using other drivers. I
seriously have almost nothing in my computer now besides, firefox and
window live messager, and a few stock drivers. I'm feeling completely
hopeless.

Sounds to me like hardware, in particular, overheating.

Clean out all the dust from the vents and fans. This will require some
disassembly.

Sounds like to me too, until I format my computer again and reinstall a
pirate version of window xp. The computer lasted a day without blue
screen. So I bought myself a legal version of windows 7 after, and
installed that, it works fine ever since. No more blue screen. (Vista on
the other hand started blue screen even with nothing else but window
installed)

I guess I was wrong.

Not really - I said it sounds like hardware to me. That is correct, that's
what it sounded like to me.

Until you replied with facts :-)

Grumble, grumble, facts, mumble, mumble.

hey this is ahmed sohail from pakistan i think i can help u i also get
this minidump msg whenever i install any software then i went to windows
file and searched for minidump folder in windows folder and just deleted
it and now my windows is just fine!!!! try it

Since the minidump folder stores debug and other information related to
problems, deleting it isn't the best idea.

It isn't that your windows is fine, it's that you don't know how it is :-)
