Hi all,

when first booting the WinXPe I get a BSOD right after the text phase of the
boot.
the stop error is:
0x0000007B (0xFCF2B640,0xC0000034,0x00000000....)
I know that it's supposed to be related to IDE or IDE controller. but the
drivers that I use are
not vendor made but from the component listed by Microsoft. I chose them
using the TA tool which analysed my machine.

does any one know are to trouble-shoot this problem?
I'd appreciate any lead since I'm out of ideas.

thanks in advance,

Yaron Maor

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the information.
I've tried to add the missing components such as Primary Channel and
Secondary Channel which I've missed.
but still it does'nt help.
the TA did recgnized the IDE controller correctly: I'm using a VIA board
"EDEN ESP 5000" and
the TA added the component: "VIA Bus Master IDE Controller" which I believe
is the right one.
I added the all three "Disk Drive"s just to make sure because the GenDisk
did'nt help.
I tried to boot using two different HardDisks types: 1st a USB IDE HD and
2nd DiskOnModule Chip.
none worked and both gave the same error.
the article suggested running the TAP instead of the TA but I don't have a
running OS on the system so I don't know what to do now.

all the suggest components were added to the build.

should I try DL drivers from VIA's website and replace with the one MS
provides?

thanks again,

Yaron Maor

You see, this is a difficult part of image creating if the developer doesn't
know the Ven/Dev IDs for the HW you're testing on and a BIOS won't even
report all its hardware <grin>.

Try installing full XP on to the machine to prove to yourself that all
necessary drivers already exist in XP to support it. If it installs, simply
run TAP.exe on it and save that PMQ. Trust me on this one, taking one hour
to install XP on it right now will save you hours and hours of pulling your
hair out because of the BIOS on this machine.

Good luck.
Andy
