Can some one tell me how to change e-mail settings so it doesn't arrive
with blue letters on black. The only way to read it is to highlight the
body of the e-mail. ugh...TIA Al

well, go to your preferences for email, and change them. This is a windows
Xp new users newsgroup, and, although almost anyone can help you, you might
find what you are looking for in your specific email programs help files.

I am asking about this with reference to windows XP. My addy is
(e-mail address removed). I'm new to the computer since I've had webtv for several
years.

Which email program do you mean? I can't tell from your headers because
you are posting via WebTV.

The answer given by Ivee is correct in that reading the help file may
help you but if we know which email program we may be able to give
better advice.

In OE, Tools->Settings->Reading tab, the 4th from top "Show messages as
plain text"(?) could work

It doesn't matter what your OS is - you need to post in a group relevant to
your *email client*, not your operating system. And no one is going to email
you - I'm not going to give my email address to a complete stranger - you
could be harvesting addresses for all I know. And you've just opened your
inbox to every spammer in the known universe. Congratulations.
