I'm thinking of cutting a blowehole into the side of my case. On the
right, to the side of where my mobo is mounted. to Blowing air onto my
HDD's. Is this A good Idea??

TIA

A lot cases have them now. I cut one out of an older case and it
really really needed it. There was a hot spot in it since there were
so many freaking IDE cables etc blocking the air flow.

Try a hole saw on a drill. I used a nibbler at it was torture.

Doesn't your case already have a fan in the front panel to blow in?

You might do better with a top blow hole sucking heat out of the PC.

That's usually where I tuck all the IDE cables out of the way, would
be the worst place for me but maybe yours are routed differently.

A blowhole for HDD cooling would work good IF your case is one of a
very few modern ones with the HDDs rotated 90 degrees, so the airflow
has a good chance of getting in-between the drives... If your drives
are stacked right ontop of each other the fan isn't going to do nearly
as much cooling. Only you can see your case, is that the best place,
direction to route the airflow? "usually" a HDD fan is better mounted
in the front wall, with the HDDs behind it.
