After installing the antispyware program on a Win XP Pro
SP2 client in our SBS2003 network I was happy with the
results and decided to install on an additional 3 client
computers all running the sam OS.
After a few days i decided to install the program on our
SBS2003 server and see how it went. I couldn't find any
documentation regarding running the program on a DC but
decided to try it out anyway. After 5 days running
without an issue we arrived at work this morning to find
we could access all websites EXCEPT any of the microsoft
websites. No client computers were able to login to MSN
Messenger either. We checked with our ISP who advised us
there was no problem with the sites. After several
reboots of the server I decided to uninstall the
antispyware just as a precaution and voila - all fixed.

Has anyone encountered this before or any ideas why this
happened or how i can fix it if i reinstall spyware on
the computer?

I've got Microsoft Antispyware on all machines behind two different SBS-2000
servers, without seeing such an issue. However, I don't have any SBS-2003
servers among my current clients.

I would recommend posting in one of the public SBS-related newsgroups to see
whether this experience rings any bells there--it is possible that there's
something more to this than the simple cause and affect apparent on the
surface. Those groups usually have excellent response time, in my
experience. Do I take it you are using ISA Server?

Yes we are using the full capabilities of SBS2003
including ISA 2000 and Exchange 2003. I thought there may
have been an area with spyware that allowed users to
blocks sites or something which I had not seen.

I will check out the other newsgroups.

Thanks

I'm having trouble imagining how to achieve this effect myself--I'd be
interested to hear the outcome.
