I am using Outlook 2007 on Windows XP SP2 and connect to an Exchange server.
I am wondering if there is a way to NOT display graphics that come in e-mails
unless I specifically request to view them. I don't mean attachments but
embedded pictures. I have tried the settings in Trust Center and that didn't
seem to work. Thanks!

if the embedded images are attached to the message, no. you'd need to use
set outlook to always use plain text. (trust center)

If they are external content, yes, the block external content setting will
block them - unless you are allowing external content from trusted sender
and contacts and the sender is on one of those lists. Blocked external
content is in the source code in this format: <img
src="http://somedomain.com/mypicture.jpg" />
