blocking of internet

Hi ,

I want to know if i am a network administrator . and i want that any
particular person which are connected with the network and i want to block
or stop the internet of that person.

for example : when the person want to view or download
he will not be able to do .
how can i do it and from where

In Windows the standard answer is "ISA"
(aka Proxy Server).

The only real problem with ISA is that it costs money.
It's not built-in.

But it is one of the few (only?) products that allow
blocking by user ID (SID) or group to any or all
protocols (www, ftp, etc.)
for example : when the person want to view or download
he will not be able to do .

If you don't mind mixing in a little Unix on your network, you can try Squid
proxy for free with Fedora Core3 (Also free).
