blocking fax messages

I am harassed by incoming fax messages, none of which I
want. I cannot find a way to turn off, or block, fax
reception. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

For what fax software? The fax services included with Windows XP (if
you installed it)? If so, use the Fax Console to configure the options
for your device (i.e., faxmodem). You want to uncheck the "Enable
Receive" option.
