Blocked senders list outlook express

If I blocked a Microsoft virus sent by who knows, in the blocked senders
list in Outlook Express.Would this also block Microsoft Updates that comes
up in the right hand corner by the clock ect..?

Keep getting the Microsoft patch download immediately... virus, every day
for about 2 mon ths now
Any suggestions?

Nope, it would have no affect on the autoupdate function.

Often the email viruses have spoof return address. So you may block friend
who did not have the infected machine.
