why do i get this warning when trying to receive files "...tried to send you
a file (....) This file has been blocked because it is potentially unsafe"
how do i bypass that to receive the file when i know its not unsafe
ive tried turning off all or my firewalls and virus alerts

Hi,

Well, Vista has a similar "feature" that's even more annoying. However, it doesn't require
hidden registry entries to turn off, there's a button to do it right in the interface and it
doesn't bother you again.

That's OK then. :)
But I think the received file shouldn't be removed at all, even when on; it
could be moved and/or renamed, like the anti virus programs do it. Why the OS
should act anti virus is beyond me. This has really upset me. But thanks for
the info. I will consider Vista when the time comes - though I have an old
"play" computer with Linux here as well ...
