Block opening mail program

Maybe this is an odd request...

Is there any way to make IE6.0 ignore hyperlinks to mail addresses or block
them somehow??? I wish that I could click on a email and Outlook Express
(nor any other program) started. In fact, I want it to do nothing. Is this
possible??? Any ideas?

Thanks... but I honestly don't know how to do that. Could you be more
