Block LAN users at Work From Accessing my Computer

I am looking to block people at my job from accessing my
computer while I am on the network. How can I block them
from using my computer and going through my files on my
computer and blocking them from looking at my index.dat
file to see what I am surfing.

That having been said, there are a couple of things you should realize:

1. The computer at your workplace belongs to your employer, not to you. If
the "personal drive" you refer to is on the company-owned computer, it is
NOT personal.

2. Your employer is entitled to install any software he or she feels is
necessary to monitor activities taking place on company computers.

3. If your "surfing" is related to your job or work assignments, don't
worry about it. If it is not, then don't do it at your workplace.

4. Any network administrator with half a brain can determine what you or
anyone else on the LAN is doing. So, don't bother.

First of all I am the owner of the company not wanting my
employees gathering information on my computer.

Thanks for the help anyhow.

Had you indicated that you were the owner, I would have suggested that you
