I am using Windows XP and Outlook 2003. I used to be able to set this up
easily in Outlook 2000 using KB article Q266339. It should be easier in
Outlook 2003.

I continue to put my email address in the email address dialogue box then
tab down to the "Display As." The name I placed in the "Full Name" box,
let's say 'Committee," then appears in the "Display As" box. It is followed
by my email address. After deleting the email address and saving the
contact, up reopening and clicking on "New Message To Contact," it shows the
name "Committee" along with my email address which means that all those
receiving the blind distribution list (when I attach the list in the BCC
box) will see Committee (e-mail address removed) instead of just Committee.

I have tried right-clicking on the email address in the contact which brings
up the Email Properties window, and making sure that the name Committee is
in the Display As there as well and it is.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Bert

You did not mention where you are entering the name and email address nor
how you are addressing the message.
Works fine here if I enter this information into a Contact Record, set the
Display As field there, then enter the recipient into the To: field from the
Outlook Address Book.

Russ, Thanks for the help. Actually, although this may not have been the
information you were looking for, I think I had indicated I put the email
address in the email dialogue box, and the name which is where it gets
"addressed to" in the Full Name box.

Anyway, you did point out what I was doing wrong. I was clicking on "New
Message to Contact" directly from the contact instead of opening an email
and entering the recipient in the To: Field. It works great again. Thanks.
