BlasterWorm - Computer Continues to restart

I has the Blaster Worm on my other laptop as well as on a
desktop that I have. I updated Wwindows on the desktop
and had to enable the XP Firewall in order to finish
installing a service pack. I got the fix from symantec
and the desktop I have is working fine... however, while
trying downloading a service pack from windows update for
the laptop, I couldn't enable the XP firewall, and when
the installation was almost complete, the laptop
restarted as it had several times while trying to get the
installation to complete. But this time, it just kept
restarting. I have been working with it since early this
morning, and cannot even get it to boot from a Windows XP
CD-Rom... I can access BIOS, but that's it. Does anyone
have any ideas???????????????

When you attempt to boot from the CD, if there is an OS already installed on
the system, a few screens into the boot process there's a message that
instructs you to press any key if you wish to boot from the CD. Did you do
that?
