Blaster patch - Not part of Windows Update ?

Can anybody confirm (or explain why) to me that the
BlasterWorm patch is NOT part of any Critical Update from
Windows Update for Windows2000 ?

Perhaps you've already installed it? It is/was indeed available in Windows
Update.
 
Well.. The Blaster Patch is KB823980.
On some recent new installations I have installed SP4,
then ran windows update and installed all critical updates
thinking that would be fine.
But ive just found blaster on one of these PCs.
KB823980 isnt listed in Add/Remove, so it doesnt seem to
be part of the critical updates.
Ive ran the blaster removal and the 823980 patch and all
is now fine, and the 823980 patch now also shows up in
Add/Remove programs.

Can Andybody from microsoft confirm my findings ?
Why isnt the blaster patch part of Windows Update !?
 
Windows Update has some detection logic built into it that if it detects
that you have the patch and have the virus it offers you the blaster tool.
If you don't have the blaster patch it will not offer you the tool, and if
you have the update but not the virus it will not offer you the tool. You
can howerver manully download this from the Microsoft Download site.

The 823980 is ms03-026 which was superceeded by ms03-039 824146. So you
should have the last one in Add/remove Programs.
Install ms03-039.

RoJ is asking about the patch, not the removal tool. Marina has the correct
answer -- it was superseded by MS03-039.
