I am the administrator of an orginazation that uses about 125 computers in a 2000 native networking enviroment. I inherited this job and the administrative account. This organization uses the same admin password for both the network and all local accounts on each PC. Here's the kicker. I found out that someone else has this password besides me and my supervisor (don't you love stepping into the results of someone elses problems). Now, I've heard that there's a utility available to allow you to change the administrators password on all machines at once instead of having to do it localy one at a time. Can anyone tell me where this is at, or another solution besides visiting each machine?

Change it on the Domain server. I believe you log in
to the Domain ... not the local station. ?? I've played
with ADS for a while, and basically the Domain
server acts like a dinosaur and eats everything in that
Domain .. that is, changes passwords all over the
place. Not cute in my opinion. What I did here
was take down ADS and switch to stand alone
servers that did a simple job. Wow! ADS in a company.
I'm surprised you guys are still in business. I'll bet
I know what happened to the other sysad :-) Gave
admin rights to all the users, and they've got your
passwd. Solution: format C:\

Cusrmgr.exe from the Resource Kit can do this from the commmand line.
Or you can use a script.

If at first you don't succeed, forget skydiving

You can change the Local admin account on all
domain members through Group Policy.

Edit the default domain policy.
