Blank windows

On some "links" in web pages, i just get a blank window
with the heading "Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by
Freeserve". No connection is made or information
displayed at all.
Sometimes other links do work. I have installed Explorer
6 installed.
I have also tried deleting temp internet files/cookies and
reset ecurity. All to no avail

Can anyone help please???????
