Blank windows in Explorer

On a windows 2000 PC when I open any windows i can't see
the contents, its not hidden or protected files that are
missing. I can't see anything. If i explore any folder i
can see sub folders in the navigation pane on left but
nothing on right. This is the case for all folders.
Not sure if its related but I can't open a Search either.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Thanks but its not that the folder window is greyed out.
When I open a folder e.g. the Progam Files folder, the
window comes up white its like its totally empty but in
the bottom left it tells me how many items are in the
folder. I have the option to view all files selected.
If i explorer the Program files folder i can see
subfolders in the navigation pane on the left but noting
on the right pane.
Thats the same for every folder. If i log on remotely I
can see all files/folders. This problem I think only
happened after the logon domain was changed.
Any ideas?
Thanks
-Pat
