When I click on a link within a site where then a smaller new window should
open, I only get a transparent empty window and the logo just keeps turning
and turning without stopping - it never opens. When I am at a site and I am
redirected to a totally different URL that would use the same window, I
connect just fine.

I've tried Henri Leboeuf's suggestions at
http://www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/blankpge.htm

but nothing changed. I ran the Repair IE utility also. Still nothing.

Would someone please help?

Thank you.

Thanks for responding, Henri. But as I wrote, I've already checked
everything as you suggest in http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=281679 and
it was all as it should be. And I "repaired" IE too, just in case. I also
went through any seemingly relevant articles in your index, but found
nothing that helped. Would you please have any other ideas?

Another thing, Henri, which might help you help me (sorry for all of the
postscripts). It seems that every time I reboot I have to go to File
Types/URL:Http and open and edit and just click on Okay, without changing
anything, for ANY links to work.

Also, I have a second File Types/URL:Http, this one with "privacy" at the
end of it. I suppose that's normal, but what happens here. It has the same
settings as the other one.

Hope that all of this info. helps. BTW, I'm running WIN98.
