blank space on dropdown list

I apologize, I’m still learning! I understand how to select the data I want
and name the list within the name box. Can you please explain how to set the
fill range? Thank You!!!

I am creating a drop down list in Excel and i need to leave a blank space at the top of the list.

In a remote location make your list with a blank cell at the top>name the
list>use =mylist

Assuming the dropdown list id Data Validation list.

Include the blank cell at the top of your listrange.

i.e. list of choices for list is A2:A12

Select A1:A12 for the listrange.
