I am using Windows XP Home with Internet Explorer 6 and SP2.
With some user-initiated pop-ups, all I get is a blank browser window. The
place where I am particularly interested in getting this to work is
http://www.telecharge.com. When I click on the button to buy tickets, I get
this message: "There is already a session of the Online Box Office in use or
you may have pop-ups blocked on your computer. To launch the Online Box
Office, you must first close the current session or disable your pop-up
blocker."
This happens on other sites too such as reviewing my update history at
microsoftupdate. When I click on the particular update, all I see is "print"
and "close" in the upper right hand corner of the window.
Now to make things complicated. This is what I've tried:
turning off the pop-up blocker.
exiting McAfee Security Center and McAfee Virus Scan
reinstalling the java plug-in from Sun
re-registering various dll's
Urlmon.dll, Mshtml.dll, Actxprxy.dll, Oleaut32.dll, Shell32.dll, Shdocvw.dll
making http://www.telecharge.com a trusted site
making https://www.telecharge.com a trusted site
switching java machines between Microsoft and Sun
Has anyone seen or solved this problem?
What else can I try that might work?
Thanks,
Ben
