Blank Page Prints Before Group

I have a report where I want to keep each group together on a page where possible. If I set the group's Keep Together property to Whole Group (which is how I want it), I get a blank page before each group that extends more than one page by itself. If I set the Keep Together Property to With First Detail then I don't get any blank pages. I really would prefer to keep the Whole Group setting as the result (except for the blank pages) is what I want.

Any thoughts?

Fritz. I usually approach this is as follows.
I set the new page property for the group header to before, this starts each
group on a new page, this should prevent any blank pages.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion - I don't want it to create a new page before or after that group, though. If the groups are small enough, I want them to fit on the same page. The problem is when one group is too big for a page, it gets moved to the next page and leaves one blank.

It turns out it was a different group header that was causing the problem. I moved the data from that other group header to the Page Header section and the problem disappeared. I'm still not sure why, but it's working so I am not going to worry about it ...

Fritz.
Glad you worked it out. Was it possible that the repeat property for the
other header was set to yes? Specially if there was realy no label or
textbox in that header and the can shrink was no then this was taking up
(blank) space on the next page.
Take care. Fons

Yes, the repeat property was set to yes, but there were controls in the the header. Something there must have caused the problem since when I moved it to the Page Header instead it worked fine.

Thanks for your help. I struggled with this thing for over an hour and decided to post & then 5 minutes later I had it fixed ...
