Blank page displayed requiring refresh...

I am running IE 6 with all the latest SPs. For some
reason, and there is no consistent pattern, some pages
load but are not displayed until I refresh the page. For
example, the windows logo stops moving, indicating that
the page is loaded, but the screen is blank. I select
refresh, the windows logo moves again, and this time it
displays the page.

This doesn't always happen and I cannot find a pettern
with specific pages. Not that I think this has anything
to do with it but I run routine virus and adware scans.

Any help would be appreciated.
