Thank you so much in advance! About half the messages I
receive in O2003 have no body either in reading pane or
when opened. I have no rules set up and it's a fresh
install. I can't spot any commonalities (happens with
text and HTML formatted messages).

Please help, I'm missing many important messages!

Thanks again!!!!

Have you checked your font options in Outlook to see if you have them
set to display white text on a white background?

Thanks for the response! Yes I have checked font settings
there is no text there to adjust the font for.

UPDATE: I spoke too soon on formats. When I went back
and looked again, it's happening only on the plain text
messages. HTML format messages come through fine.

What add-ins have been installed, if any, into Outlook
(tools->options->other->advanced)?

Do you send/receive e-mail through a proxy used for spam filtering, like
SpamPal? Do you use any other proxies to retrieve your e-mails, like
using YahooPOPs or Hotmail Popper for Yahoo and Hotmail accounts?

Do you have anti-virus software scanning your inbound e-mails? Tried
disabling its e-mail scanning feature?

When new e-mail arrives, have you tried to use your ISP's webmail
interface to your e-mail account, provided they have such a web page?
Do plain text messages received there look okay? That is, before
reading the plain text message using Outlook, what does the message look
like when you read it using your ISP's webmail page to your account?

Do these plain text messages have attachments, like a .dat file?

Thanks again for your help! Here's what I have:

ADD-INS: None.
PROXIES/FILTERS: None.
A/V: Norton Corporate makes no difference on or off
SERVER: Standard POP3
WebMail looks fine
No attachments (winmail.dat or otherwise)

Do you have PGP installed? That can cause problems with Outlook 2003 message
bodies.

Have you tried running Detect and Repair (under the Help menu)?

Have you tried starting Outlook in safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe")?

I have the same problem; I tried starting in SAFE MODE and gues what, the body text does show up. However, I am now even more confused as to what might cause the problem and how to get it fixed.

If you have any add-ins installed, start unchecking them one by one. Also,
the first thing you should try is unchecking McAfee AV scanning your mail.

Swen virus, all e-mails sent to my actual account will be deleted
w/out reading.

we are having the same problem. our fix is to simply
change\ re-install the fonts in display settings. that is
change the fonts from large to small, reboot, then back,
and reboot again, then all emails, including plain text
emails, are not blank.
this seems to occur once or twice a year to different
machines.

is there a more permanent fix?
