Hi guys

we are having problems running iNotes 7.0.2 on IE6 where we get a blank page
when we open our email tab, we have found if it runs in IE7 firefox. but we
can't move to IE7 as we have some web based app's that don't run in IE7.
we have tryed all installed java from sun, and the java VM from microsoft
and it hasn't corrected the issue. we have also checked all of our IE
settings as per both Microsoft and IBM tech support instructed to no avail.
has anybody seen this problem? or know of anything else we can try to correct
this problem?

Steve

If you launch iNotes (now called Domino Web Access) from a Favorite in IE,
try typing the address in manually. If that works, delete and recreate the
Favorite.

Try clicking the "Refresh" button in IE, or force a refresh - CTRL+F5
In IE go to Tools...Internet Options...Advanced - toggle the checkmark
besides "Use HTTP 1.1", and uncheck "Do not save encrypted data to disk" in
the Security section, click Apply, click Okay. Close all IE windows,
reopen.

Make sure your version of the MS Java VM is 3810. From a command window
type in "jview", then Enter.

Make sure you don't have any pop-up blockers enabled - either IE's or
through a third-party toolbar or other "security" program.

In IE go to Tools...Internet Options...Connections tab, LAN settings. If
you are not using a proxy server, uncheck the box there. If you are, check
the box "Bypass proxy server for local addresses".

If no joy, what version of Windows and what version of IE 6 are you using?

Also post this issue, along with exactly what you have tried to fix this
issue to this forum:

Jon,

we have both tested with favorites and manually typing in the address, have
forced refeashes we have also reinstalled clean windows on a couple of the
computers that are having the problem, we have also recreated the windows
profiles, changed all of the IE settings to the least restrictive, changed
the http 1.1 option and the do not save encrypted, installed both Sun java
console and the MS java VM to the latest version to no avail, pop blockers
are disabled by default, and we have totaly bypassed the proxy and still
recive the error.

we are using windows XP SP2 with all of the latest updates, with the
exception of IE7, we use IE6 with the latest updates.

the odd part is that we don't have the problem on all of our computers which
all run the same spec'ed image.

Thanks

Steve

Then you have an excellent opportunity to do some comparative diagnosis.

E.g. the first idea I had from your symptom description was: what does
View Source show? Frequently View Source shows more than you might
expect for something which is being described as a "blank page".

And since you now claim to have two cases for testing you could trace both
and compare the traces to see what the essential differences are.
E.g. use FiddlerTool or netcap to trace just the HTTP message flow;
use ProcMon to trace any registry and file accesses done at the same time.
When you have two cases like that you don't really have to know what you're
looking at to be able to spot differences and even infer what the differences
might imply.

Good luck
