blank CD causes crash

Whenever I insert a blank cd into my pc Windows XP locksup-
hangs-freezes-crashes.

I get a small CD icon next to the mouse pointer for a
second or two, then the system is hosed.

I have tried different media & drives.

ANY HELP????

Check the default acton for "Blank CD" on the Autoplay property sheet of
the CD drive in My Computer.
