When I start up powerpoint, and load my presentation, it looks all grey for
the background, and the images are all grey. However, (Office 2003), when I
look at the thumbnails they have the correct BG, and when I go to show the
presentation itself it shows the right BG. Did I accidentally press something
that I sould change back?

P.S. When I load a different one, (for example, a one w/ the theme blue, the
BG turns blue, except when I start it in a actual presentation, or look at
the thumbnails, they're fine.

P.P.S. The BG of my presentation is grey as the main theme.

Is Service Pack 2 for Office 2003 installed on your computer? Download it
from Microsoft's website and see whether it helps.

As Ute says definitely check that you are up to date

It may also be that you are in greyscale view. Check in view >
color/greyscale and choose color

In addition to the other suggestions, make sure you're not in High Contrast
mode. It's set in Windows Control Panel | Accessibility Options. This is a
frequent cause of the presentation opening in the equivalent of black and
white view.

And in addition to the other suggestions in addition to the other suggestions,
make sure you're in 16-bit color or higher video mode.

Rightclick the Windows desktop, choose Properties, then Display Settings.
If you're in 256-color (8-bit) mode, increase to 24-bit if possible.

To all: My computer is only a year old, and it was working before... Any
other suggestions?

You had a number of suggestions posted in reply to your original question.
Did you try any of them?

So, if it was working "before" (whenever that was) - what did you do in the
meantime? Did you install any other program, add-in or driver? If so,
de-activate those and try again. Sometimes other programs are known to
interfere with one another.

Best regards,
Ute
