Any help will be appreciated. (I am repeating the question a little clearer
this time I hope, thanks to those that posted previous responses, I now see
I was not precise)
A file was detected on the hard drive as corrupted and was deleted (I didn't
record the bad file name - My Mistake).
Most icons inside Windows Explorer now appear as black squares. All the
Microsoft icons for office, for interent explorer, outlook etc and most
annoyingly the icon for folders now appear as black squares. These
squares only appear inside Windows explorer and on the Quick Launch Toolbar.
The Desktop icons are fine, folders, IE, outlook etc. All of the same icons
in IE are fine.
Is there somewhere I can get a replacement file to repair the damage
(without the nausea of re-installing windows 2000)? If so where can I get
the file and into which directory should I copy it. Or is there another
option to a complete re-install of windows 2000?
Regards
Nick
