This is a follow up to my posting on the Black Screen of Death (BSOD) in
this group on 10/13/2006
The BSOD is alive and well in RTM vista MAYBE!
It occurred once during an Upgrade install over RC2.
QUESTIONS:
1. IF I had done a clean install rather than an upgrade would it have
happened?
2. I went through a shutdown and a hibernate without getting it. Does this
mean that it has disappeared?
One thing that I love is the little audio beep that occurred just before the
attempt to shutdown. I was doing something else, and it got my attention
(just as I had intended with my suggestions on 10/13.)
Otherwise the install went wonderfully.
Current gripes:
1. Visual Studio 2005 is NOT compatible with Vista. What a yuck
2. Windows Mail has a serious jitter problem that I've reported in the
appropriate group.
Regard,
Al Christoph
