New problem, Worked fine since loading on new computer 4
months ago. XP Home OEM with sp1. Daughter's computer at
ex's. She stated problem started after she deleted some
stuff. On power up, goes through boot up to point where it
shows xp logo then goes to entirely blank screen and
computer is unresponsive to any other commands. Computer
has integrated graphics and it is enabled in bios. I still
have 98 on my computer, I tried to go into safe mode by
hitting F8 during boot up but no go. Any ideas on how to
proceed?

you mention 'black screen' in the subject - and
'blank screen' in the content - and the
'black screen' can indicate 'corrupt MBR/MFT'
thus you may have to do a 'clean install'
but first you can try a 'repair install'
where you don't lose your data files
so am incl these help links - ie
