Black Sceen when playing games.

I'm experiencing the Screen Goes Black Situation with my 3DConnect ATi
Radeon 9600 128Mb DVI card.
It happens in conjunction with the following:

-when playing games
-when starting/exiting NetMeeting
-when exiting PCMark 2004/3DMark 2003

Any reasons? Please help.

My system:

Asus P4C800 Deluxe Motherboard
2Gb PC2700 Memory (4x512Mb)
Intel 2.60 HT at 800Mhz FSB
HDD: SATA RAID 0 (2 x Seagate) Total: 160Gb
Win XP Pro SP1
17' TFT CTX 722i DVI 60Hz

Some people suggested that my monitor refresh rate is too low, but how can I
increase it when this is the max? I would probably damage it if I did.

A second problem would be that I cannot install any new drivers for the
graphic card apart the one that came with the card's CD-ROM. The reason is
that computer simply restarts after installing the new driver.

I don't know if this will help you, but if you go to the Windows XP
updates (not Critical Updates) at Windows Update, there is one fix posted
there that deals with games not responding/hanging when launched. Prior
to getting this update, I had a few games in particular which would give
me a blank screen when I launched them. After the update, all was peachy
again. I have a feeling your problem might not be solved by this, but
it's worth a shot. The download is less than 1MB. Good luck.

The dxdiag test all went OK. I've got the DirectX 9.0b
I saved all info to a text file, but is probably too big to post it here.

This is what I retreive from a watchdog file from "windows/logfiles"
regarding the driver updating problem:

//

//
// The driver for the display device got stuck in an infinite loop. This
// usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device
// driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Please check with your
// display device vendor for any driver updates.
