black not printing on ip5000

hi,
i have a canon ip5000 that has not been used for a few months. i tried to
print and there was nothing at all on the page. i then did a number of
cleaning cycles and printed test pages, i now have all colours working but
no black at all. any ideas would be welcome.

Is it the pigmented black that is not printing? That would be the bci-3ebk
cart (the large one.) That is the one that would most likely clog. How
about the bci-6 black cart (dye based ink.) The best source for cleaning a
clog that persists after running the cleaning cycles is on the nifty-stuff
forum. Click on the FAQ's link at the top of the site and read through the
first topic about what to do if your printer isn't printing properly.

He is a wannabe photographer. Lurk in the photo ng's and you'll see his
stupid ass there.
He has an entirely different tone in the ng's that are moderated. He's
been barred from numerous moderated ng's because of his lack of ethics
and intelligence.
He's so stupid, even he doesn't know it!
