black logon screen

why do i get a black logon screen and my friend doesnt?
i wanted a welcome screen. duz ne1 know how 2 fix it?
 
Do you mean that you have to type your user name and password manually
to log in? If so, go to Control Panel, User Accounts. Click "Change the
way users log on or off" and then make sure "Use the Welcome screen" is
checked. Better?

Click on start, control panel then user accounts.
Click on change ways users log on or off.
Make sure a tick is in the "use welcome screen" box and click apply options
