black and white to colour..

Can someone help me out please. l have some black and white photos on my
computer and would like to make them colour photos is this possible. If it
can be done is there any free microsoft downloads l could use..

This would have to be accomplished
in an advanced digital Image editing
progam. And...it is a long tedious task.

Imagine that you will be literally "coloring"
the picture much like a childs coloring
book and crayons.
