Mobo: Intel DQ965GF BIOS: Intel v5595 (latest)
TPM: ST Microelectronics v1.2
OS: VISTA Ultimate
TPM driver: MS tpm.sys (Intel do not have tpm driver for Vista!)
TPM enabled and initialized in BIOS.

When I enable BitLocker, it passes the 'check' and begins encryption, while
simultaneously turning OFF the 'TPM base services'. Result is Bitlocker
thinks that no valid TPM device present!!!

Response to 'manage-bde.wsf':
C:\Windows\system32>cscript manage-bde.wsf -tpm -t
Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host Version 5.7
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

ERROR: A compatible Trusted Platform Module (TPM) was not detected.

Any ideas folks?

Tony, the best place for BitLocker questions is actually in
microsoft.public.windows.vista.security

If I could help you, I would. There are some smart
folks in that group that know more about BitLocker
than I do.

Take care,

Michael

Tony:
That error would indicate that the TPM chip on the motherboard isn't
version 1.2 compatible. To setup BitLocker on your system, you would have to
follow scenario 3, in the step-by-step guide, using a USB key to enable
BitLocker. Have a great day.

Hello Tony,

You're good, because most folks do not properly set up ther HDD before
attempting to Activate BitLocker.

If the conflict still remains, considering your knowledge, try the below
