Bitlocker not installing

I'm having problems installing Bitlocker on my notebook. It's a Dell
Inspiron without a TPM chip. I ran the preparation tool and it created
a new S partition. Unfortunately, when I go to enable Bitlocker, I get
a message about there not being enough disk space available. On my
main partition, I have about 20 gigs free, so this should not be the
problem.

Has anyone else seen this problem? I'd really like to get Bitlocker
working, and am finding few resources to help me. One other thing that
may be of consequence. I have a 50MB partition/volume on this drive
that originally had some OEM tools installed by Dell. This has since
been deleted. I can't seem to extend my main partition into this area
though.

In the Disk Management window it shows:

Unallocated Space (47MB) | C (52GB) | S (1.6GB) | Unallocated 250MB

Just an update, I changed the partition structure to get rid of the
47MB partition. I now have only two partitions. The main one and the S
drive. Bitlocker still says there isn't enough room on the disk to
encrypt the drive. What else can I do?

Chuck BL and install PGP whole disk encryption instead.
