I didn't say it wasn't mentioned.
Yes, I did search Google but couldn't figure out why it doesn't seem
to be nearly as popular as AVG or Avast. Could it be because it lacks
an email scanner? Somehow, I don't think so.
It also lacks an on-access scanner.It's only on demand scanning, so it's
like Fprot DOS free.

I'd appreciate any opinions on this product.
I haven't heard it mentioned much in this group but it did get recommended
(along with 3 other free AV programs) in the January 2004 issue of PC World.

Now that's a BIG reason *not* to use it. I downloaded Bit Defender's
documentation and saw a picture of the management console. In the "Security
Status" panel it says "! On-Access Scanner ......... not available."
