I imported my contacts from my office account using excel. I now have 1000+
contacts, many with birthdays that are visible when I click on the contact
and look at all details, the date is in the birthday field. The problem is
most of these do NOT appear on my calendar. I am using the default contacts
and calendar (as I have read that there may be an issue if you are using a
user created contacts db). Since the data is still there, is there anyway to
get that information to my calendar... Any help is greatly appreciated!

Diane,

Thanks for the response. I have to say I am more than a bit disappointed
that Microsoft doesn't have a fix for this and that the official solution
involves me purchasing a 3rd party software package... oh well.. thanks...
any other free/workarounds?

You can write VBA but 3rd party apps are often cost effective especially if
you aren't skilled with VBA and spend hours trying to make it work. You
might find some samples at outlookcode.com.

Outlook's normal behavior is to add birthdays of contacts to the
calendar -they are likely to be added if you do anything to modify the
contacts.

Importing data (especially .pst files) will never put your
birthdays/anniversaries on your calendar. Only when you invoke them from
within the contact item will they show on the calendar.

May I ask why you had to import them from Excel? Were you not using Outlook
prior to this for your contacts?
