Hello,

i have changed the contact fomular of a new public contact folder. The
birthday field is now in the first tab, the details-tab is diabled.
When creating a new contact with the birthday field filled i can not save
the contact in the public folder but in my personal folder. Without data in
the birthday field it works fine, trying then the same procedure for a
second or third time (with birthday data) it works fine...

Is there anybody out there who has a solution?

thanks in advance
Stefan

What happens when you try? Error messages? Is the folder configured to allow only certain forms?

I get the message: "you have no rights to save data" (or something similiar,
it's a german version...)
The folder is configured to allow only this created form.
The access rights should be ok as well. The error occurs even using the
admin account.
When creating a second contact (or more) i can always save the contacts.
But after restart of WindowsXP it's the same problem again... I cannot save
the first, but the second, the ...

Thanks
Stefan

What steps are you using to display the new item so that you can fill in its fields?

add a new contact (with mouse)
the (new) form appears
i fill all fields
save item (with mouseclick)
when the question if i want to save the birthday in my personal calendar
appears i say "no" (or "yes", it doesn't matter)
the error appears
i save the contact in my personal folder
then i am never again asked

I get no errors when I try this. What I get is a prompt to save the birthday event -- not the contact, but a calendar item -- in my personal Calendar folder. Regardless of whether I answer Yes or No, Outlook saves the contact in the public folder without error.

Sorry, but I can't explain or even duplicate the problem you're seeing.
