Birthdate Problems

For some reason, when I enter a birthdate below year
1930'ish, it defaults to year 2030. Any ideas on how to
stop this?
 
The assumption of century is defined in the Windows Control Panel, under
Regional Options.

In Windows XP, open Regional Options from Control Panel, and click the
Customize button on the Regional Options tab. In the next dialog, click the
Date tab, and at the top under the Calendar option, set:
"When a two-digit year is entered, interpret it as ...

You (and your users) must enter the date using all 4 digits.

This has to do with how Windows interprets dates, and you can see its
"logic" by opening the Windows Control Panel and then selecting Regional and
Language Options. There should be a "Customize" button - click that and you
should see a popup window entitled: "Customize Regional Options" which has
4 tabs. Click the Date tab and in the next popup window, you will see how
Windows has been instructed to interpret 2-digit years.
