How do you access the bios if it's password protected? Any assistance would
be much appreciated.

Enter the password.

Not being able to access the BIOS without the password is the whole
point of the password protection.

It might reset to a default if you unplug the computer and take the
battery out long enough. The other settings will reset too.

When asking the same question in multiple newsgroups, cross-post your one
message to all those related newsgroups (keep it under 4 to 6 related
groups). Do not multi-post separate copies of your message to each group
which ends up disconnecting the replies made in one group from those made in
the other groups.

See your other post in the other group to which you multi-posted your
disconnected copy of your same message.

You enter the password.

If you don't know the password, some BIOSs have back-door passwords
available that you can find with a google search.

As a last resort, you can remove the battery from the motherboard (or set a
jumper on the motherboard if yours has thtat feature) to reset the BIOS
contents to the defaults (that turns the the password off). You usually need
to leave the battery out for 15 minutes or so, but it sometimes takes
longer.

Either by entering the password, or by following the motherboard
manufacturer's instructions for by-passing or resetting the BIOS
password. Hint: It's usually sufficient to remove the CMOS battery for
a few minutes; just be aware that this action *will* reset the BIOS to
it's factory defaults, which may not necessarily be desirable, depending
upon the specific situation.
