I am trying to install a large HD and need to boot from the installation CD
bt since I cannot change the boot sequence I cannot. I am running XP Pro
with all the service packs and latest patches. Any ideas?

My bios screen zooms by before my monitor comes all the way on so I
never see it. What I do is hit the del key after the first beep when I'm
powering up to get to the bios. You might try the various keys that are
used to enter bios to find what yours is if that is your problem.
Otherwise, do you need the hard drive that XP is on during your
installation of the new HD? If not you might try unplugging the HD you
boot to and it should boot to the CD if it's already in the sequence.

Another thing that works is to hit the <Pause> key; that will pause the boot, allowing you to
read the screen, until you press another key.

I have tried the pause key... doing the delelte key... which is the way to
get to this bios, and unpluging the C drive. The bios screen used to show up
on boot... I actually dont remember when it stopped showing up. So far
nothing has worked.
