My printer Panasonic P6300 as updated drivers for XP but
right at the end of the Read Me file it says that if it
does not print, then change the LPT1 bios setting from
ECP to B-Directional. I cannot see how to access the
BIOS settings in the same way as I used in Win95. The
instructions (if any) are to fleeting to read.

Go to Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes and
right-click on your printer icon. Then select
Properties > Ports and check "Enable bidirectional
support".

Getting into the BIOS is totally unrelated to the operating system you have
installed.

It will be accessed when the machine first starts booting by pressing del,
F1, F2 or some other key-combination. Often, you will see a prompt on the
screen saying "Press xxx to enter setup".

The key or key combination you need to press depends totally on the
manufacturer of your system or motherboard.
