Now that I have a new 2.53 GHZ P4 with XP, I am having problems printing
to my OKI 600e. Complex pages like applications for passports come out
on 2 pages instead of 1.

Okidata says there can be transfer errors (garbage printing) because I
have an ECP port and need to change to EPP port.

I followed their instructions but this passport page still comes out on
2 pages. Now they say "Check the BIOS". Can anyone help me with what
BIOS areas to check?

FYI, here are their ECP -> EPP port instructions for XP:

===
Windows XP
1. Click on "Start", then "Control Panel.
2. Double click on "System:, and click on "Hardware", then click on
"Device Manager"
3. Click on "Ports (COM & LPT)" section, and click on "ECP Port".
4. Click on "Driver", then "Update Driver"
5. Click "Install from List or Specific Location (Advanced)", click
on "Next"
6. Select "Don't search - I will Choose Driver to Install", click
"Next"
7. Select "Show Compatible Hardware"
8. Select "Standard Port" on the left window and "Printer Port" on
the right
window
9. Click on "Next" and Click on "Finish" and close all windows
10. Reboot/Restart your computer to ensure the changes are activated.

But you don't have garbage printing, you have an extra page. This would
seem to indicate that the XP drivers think there is a different
printable area for the printer than whatever you were using before the
change. Check the settings in the driver, whatever XP currently calls
Settings/Printers and right-clicking on the printer.

[top-posting fixed, please don't do that]

The printable area is OK - 8.5"x11".

Most printers can't print all the way out to the margins. But based on
what follows, it doesn't sound like a printable area size thing.
The first page has some missing (but not empty) areas in a middle
section of the passport form. This missing area is displayed on the next
page in the same area. If you take the 2 pages and hold them to the
light, the 1 resultant "page" looks fine.

Still sounds like software/driver configuration. Beyond that, all I can
suggest is to systematically check everything in the driver settings.
