BIOS selections for RAM

My motherboard has a pair of DDR and another pair of SDRAM ram slots. I use
DDR so the SDRAM is emply. The BIOS has a selection of 100mhz or 133 mhz for
SDRAM. I wonder if the speed applies since the motherboard should go by the
DDR. There is no DDR selection. Do I have to update the BIOS? If I ugrade
the BIOS, do I have to use the same brand?

Thanks

You can use one or the other, not both.. leave the BIOS as it is.. DDR
memory sorts itself out..

When upgrading BIOS, it is imperative that you use the correct type..
mistakes here are costly, as the wrong BIOS upgrade will leave you with a
bill for a new motherboard.. if it ain't broke, don't fix it..

Wrong place to ask. You mainboard and BIOS questions have nothing to
do with XP and hardware.

DDR is hardware. Without RAM Windows XP will not run. This ***IS*** a
windows XP hardware group.

XP doesn't care what type of memory your MB has or requires. It just
uses whatever memory is correctly installed.

So no, this question does NOT belong here.
