Bios reset.

Ever since I bought my refurbished laptop, I have never tried to mess with
the bios. Now I needed to go into the setup mode via the bios route to check
things out but I couldn't do that because the computer is asking for a
password which I didn't have. Apparently, this password may have been left by
sony or the original owner which doesn't make any sense to me since this was
a refurbished computer from sony. Anyhow, how do fix this password problem so
I can gain access to my bios to reset this password and then put mine there.
Need your help people.

I think I can still remember this old trick which might only work with the
desktop where I can have easy access to the motherboard. However, this is a
laptop which means I may have to go back and try to take more stuff apart to
get to its tiny mother board and the battery if it existed on this laptop.
Anyhow, I am going to check this out and see what I can do. When I do find
the solution to this problem, i would definitely come back and share this
with you or others in the discussion group if that is neccessary. Thanks for
your help.
 
Did you try "sony" as the password?

Right Frankv, I never thought about that. I may try that just in case before
proceeding with the installation of the new CDrom that I just received from
microsoft whithout the 25 numbererd access codes. Although they indicated
that this codes will be sent to me seperately via email.
